Azad from Pakistan will take part in Gothia Cup China 2016.
Azad Foundation is a registered non-profit organization working for the rights of more than 1.5 million street children in Pakistan since 2001. Since its inception, Azad has delivered quality projects for protection, prevention, capacity building and advocacy for the rights of this marginalized group. Azad Foundation is partner with international organizations.
Azad Foundation is also the first organization to introduce Sports for Development Model for street connected children in Pakistan. The organization is also present in UK under the name Azad Foundation UK and is a registered entity in USA under the name Azad Foundation Worldwide.
On numerous occasions, Azad Foundation’s projects including Team Pakistan have been highlighted on local, national and international print and electronic media. Some of the world’s leading media outlets, including The Guardian, BBC, CNN, ITV and others published positive content and features about us.
Pakistan Street Children Football Team of Azad Foundation achieved 3rd position in Street Child Football World Cup Brazil 2014, 3rd position in Norway Cup 2015 and 2nd position in Chicago KICS Cup 2015. The team regularly participates in U-16 category in international tournaments and this year the team will be participating in Chicago KICS Cup, Norway Cup and Gothia Cup China 2016.
Along with football training, Azad Foundation offers psychosocial counseling, non-formal education and life skills based education to enable these children to become role models for their peers. In 2015, two members of the team successfully completed Cambridge Ambassador Program – a 3 months long English Language and Cultural Exchange Program at Cambridge University.
